Valerie Ogden

Instructional Coach

Valerie Ogden serves as an instructional coach and teacher for Optima Independent. She is dedicated to being a lifelong learner who strives for self-understanding and awareness of emotional development within her professional and personal life.


As a dynamic, vibrant teacher, she has a passion for teaching cross-cultural and building inquiry with students and adults. Valerie has been in education for 15 years, working in a range of ages and grades. She holds a Master of Science in Multidisciplinary Studies from the State University of New York College at Buffalo and an undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Dayton. Pursuing her passion for teaching led Valerie overseas, where she taught at two international schools before relocating back to the US. As a lifelong learner, Valerie has participated in a vast of learning opportunities, from Education Law to Leading Learning. In her free time, she enjoys staying active and being able to travel. Valerie resides in Decatur, Georgia, with her husband and their golden retriever.
