Conversation Starters

Being intentional about conversations with our children each day nurtures bonds and strengthens relationships as students continue to learn and grow. Designating a set time each day or week, such as dinnertime or while driving to/from activities, will help make sure these conversations happen on a consistent basis. Below are a few conversation starters by topic and virtue to help you get started.

What was your favorite part of the day?

If you could make three rules for our family, what would they be?

What are you excited about right now?

What do you feel grateful for today?

If you were asked to describe yourself in three words, which three words would you use?

If you could travel back in time, where would you go and what would you hope to see?

What is your favorite family tradition?

What is one creative thing you did today?

If you wrote a book, what would it be about?

If you could be a character in a book, which character would you choose and why?

What was the hardest thing you did today?

If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?
